Passkey

A Passkey is a digital credential used for authentication that replaces traditional passwords. It's part of a broader movement toward passwordless security, which aims to make online interactions more secure and user-friendly. Passkeys are based on public-key cryptography, which enhances security compared to passwords

To set up Passkey as a login method for a web service using Hideez Identity Cloud, follow these steps:

  1. Follow the link in the email and select Passkey.

  1. Create a Passkey account on your smartphone or tablet by scanning the QR code in the browser.

  1. Confirm the action on your smartphone or tablet.

Login to the Web-service via a smartphone as Passkey

  1. Enter the address of the web service or application you wish to access. You will be redirected to the Hideez Identity Cloud.

  2. Click Sign In with a Passkey.

  3. Authenticate using your smartphone or tablet that you set up as a Passkey.

  1. Approve authentication on your smartphone or tablet.

  2. Authentication is complete.
